Yes I'd like to know as well. Seems like you really need to shoot constantly and always be uploading images in order to get somewhat a decent return back since the sites make the money.
There's a seminar coming up on Sunday April 25 & Monday April 26th 2010 at McDonald Hall - SAIT Campus - Calgary Alberta.
At Bootcamp 2010, you will learn strategies and methods that successful photographers are using right now to survive and even thrive in the midst of one of the worst economies we've ever experienced. It's all about knowledge, which makes it easier to believe; and belief leads to action, which is the way to success.
Well, obviously I have to say that iStockphoto.com is the best site. I sell photos there.
That being said... its a very specific type of photography. One that not everyone likes. A lot of the time you have to shoot really generic subjects. Even though many people find that boring, many others find it as an excellent source of income. Designers, bloggers, and many others are always looking for new imagery. To make any kind of income doing it though, you have to shoot and upload often. Even better would be to find an untapped niche. There are already millions of stock images of sunsets, computer keyboards, dogs... but if you can find something niche, like speed skating, or cake decorating, or whatever, you can really hit the jackpot.
