Like a lot of photographers, I first developed an interest in photography as a young kid growing up with my Dad's camera. In my early 20's I bought my first 35mm SLR camera. From that point on, my interest in the visual world accelerated from photographing scenes and sporting events, to my current and on-going love of working with human subjects.

My portfolio shows a primary interest in portraiture, but I will take on conceptual and fashion work when the opportunity presents itself. Portraiture is more than a "pretty" picture. What I try to explore is the essence of the subject's personality. Complete trust and the ability to move beyond your "safe zone" are key elements in the process.

Emotive or "dark" portraiture is an area of interest to me, with the right model. Strong images are produced when the model can find an emotional connection with the conceptual theme. If you have that ability, or are willing to challenge yourself, say Hi, and throw a few thoughts at me.

TFP is available on an individual basis. A couple of things prospective models should ponder with respect to TFP. I am not in favour of releasing unedited images from a shoot. Neither do I retouch every single shot we take. But I DO encourage and value your input and thoughts in the selection process. Generally, the best 2 or 3 frames from each look will be edited from each wardrobe, hair, or make-up change.

Please understand that I don't release full resolution digital files to be printed just anywhere. I highly value accurate colour reproduction and quality printing. To that end, I prefer to maintain where the work is printed. There are a few quality labs around town that I'd be happy to recommend. Lower resolution digital files for web posting will be emailed to you, or provided on a CD.
